May 19th Specialist

This week I had another appt with the specialist. Scott went with me and we had another special guest, my sister Stephanie. The babies are looking great they are growing well and we were even able to see the babies in 4D. We were able to get some 3D pictures of Baby A, the other 2 were sleeping and did not want to wake up. Here are their weights and photos:

Baby A 1lb 9oz

Baby B 1lb 70z

Baby C 1lb 7oz

My blood pressure was very good today and everything else was very good, except my cervix. It has shortened from 44mm to 28mm, this is a significant drop, but 28mm is actually still considered good for 25 weeks. He said he expects it to continue to drop over the next 2 weeks because the babies are growing so much. At that point I will be put on bedrest. Unfortunately I don't know what type of bedrest it will be. We are trying very hard to finish up the nursery so I can get it decorated before bedrest. We will post some pictures soon.

We are so grateful for all your continued prayers, we feel so blessed to have made it safely this far with such a high risk pregnancy and we thank God for our 3 miracles and for all the support we have had from friends and family!

May 11th Hospital Visit

On May 11th I had my usual OB appointment. This is the first appt that I have gone to by myself, these appts are usually uneventful anyway. My blood pressure checked out ok and so did everything else, then they checked my cervix. It isn't a very accurate measurement without doing an ultrasound, but the doctor seemed concerned that it was shortening so he sent me to the hospital for triage.

I drove myself over to the hospital (but not before stopping at the drive-through for a grilled chicken sandwich). It took me a while to figure out where I was going, even though we did the tour last week. I called Scott and left him a message but I knew he was tied up so I didn't know when he would find out. I was able to get in touch with Stephanie and she was on stand by to come if they admitted me.

I spent some time in the triage while they checked my vital signs, etc. The specialist on call came by and did an ultrasound, he chuckled when he measure my cervix it was 44mm which is very long. He called it a gigantic cervix and said that if he saw that for someone with a singelton he would tell them they were cut out for carrying several, but he said since I was already carrying 3 he thought that was enough. He made me feel much better, and Scott was able to find me just in time to hear the good news.

Afterwards they monitored me for about 20 minutes for contractions. I was having some minor contractions, but I couldn't feel them. They released me because they felt that the contractions weren't making my cervix shorter and they didn't want to keep me to treat them.

So after a 4 hour hospital stay I was able to go home, Scott and I stopped to eat at Sony's BBQ and then we headed home for some much needed rest.

May 5th - Specialist

Today I saw the specialist again. My mom and Scott went with me and we also had a special guest, Terry Abee. The babies are getting bigger and that makes it a little harder to see them, but much easier to feel them. Yesterday baby C kicked me so hard it actually startled me and made me jump.
Baby A is now 1lb 2 oz

Baby B is now 1lb 2 oz
Baby C is now 1lb 4 oz

Everyone is right on track and doing well, the doctor was even full of encouragement today. My bloodpressure was a little lower than last time but not significantly. They said I could continue to work part-time for now since it hadn't increased. We also visited the NICU at Presby main on Tuesday, they gave us a very detailed tour and spent about an hour with us. It was a very impressive area and very large, they can house 40 babies at a time. We saw a few babies that were 1lb 4oz, it is hard to believe that mine are that big, I'm not sure how they all fit in there. The babies were very tiny and we definetly hope to keep ours cooking for several more months, but it is also encouraging to see that they now have the potential to survive outside also.

Here are some belly shots:

May 2nd - Last Shower

I had my last shower on Saturday, I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We have been truly blessed with all of our showers and gifts. When we started this journey we didn't know how we would ever make it and we have truly felt the support of all of our friends and family over the past few weeks. This shower was at my house since I can no longer travel my friend Lisa came down to Charlotte to host it here, her neice Regan also came and was a big help. My friend from work Tammy co-hosted and did a great job organizing and doing games. We also had some great food from Anna and Kim. Scott also participated by making me a fruit carriage, he is very good with watermelons and pumpkins here is a cute picture.

We started off making bibs for the babies everyone did a great job, we have some really cute bibs for the babies. We then did 'bottle races' this was very funny to watch and much harder than you would think. I think everyone had a sore jaw after this game!

I had tons of great gifts to open, just a few of the things were got were a big frog bath toy holder, a bath spa, bath wash, cute hooded towels, washclothes, 3 adorable dresses, 3 charms with their names engraved, pacifiers, wipes, diapers, robes, baskets, toys, teethers, etc.

We are so blessed to have so many cute and useful items for our babies. We are constantly amazed at how much these little girls are going to need. Thank you all so much for your generosity and support of our 3 miracles!

April 29th - Suprise Shower

On Wednesday nights we have our small group with other married couples from our church. We got an email earlier in the week saying that we would be having a cookout this Wednesday and they needed a head count. It was suppose to be a very nice day so we didn't think anything of it. We are usually late to our meetings because I get home late from work. This week since I was only working part-time we were finally on time. When we got there we were surprised to see that we were the last ones there, we laughed at our luck to always be last. When we walked in everyone said surprise, they had decorated everything and had a huge diaper cake as a centerpiece. We had food, cake, and even games. It was so much fun watching the guys participate in the games. They made Scott and I taste baby food and guess what it was, it tasted bad and I just barely tasted it, but Scott would take a big bite it was funny to watch him. We also did a nursery rhyme trivia, I did awful, but Scott won LOL. We had so much fun, the food, decorations, and games were terrific. We also got some really great gifts: diapers, toys, crib sheets, pacifiers, teethers, and lots of other baby goodies. We feel very blessed and are so glad to have such support from our friends.

Pics are coming soon...

Thank you Elevation Small Group we are so grateful!

April 27th - Appt.

I went to the OB today and they took my blood pressure again. It was pretty high so they told me to lay on my left side and then they left me alone for about 20 minutes. When they came back they took it again and it had dropped a little. They said that that was encouraging and they were a little less worried about it, but they still wanted me to start working p-t. I am allowed to work 20 hours and can go in 2 days a week, luckily I can work from home the other days. Everything else is going well and I am relived that I will get to sleep and put my feet up more (they are very swollen).

April 25th - Waxhaw Shower

My sisters threw me a shower for family and friends in Waxhaw on Saturday. They did a great job with food and decorations. I had a great time catching up with friends and family. The babies also got some really great gifts. Each one got a handmade blanket in a different color, they were so cute. Plus they got little handmade hats which were so little. They also got a beautiful swing and a cute bouncer seat that vibrates, these will be lifesavers. We got more crib sheets, diapers, and lots of other essentials. Everyone was so generous it was so touching to get so many needed items for the babies. Here are a few pictures of the event.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this a special day, and for the wonderful gifts and generosity!
