Escaping Monkeys

I wanted to write an update on our little escaping monkeys. About 2 weeks ago my sister was watching the girls. They had been down for naps for about 2 hours when she heard a pitter patter noise coming from upstairs. She went to check it out and Savannah had climbed out of the crib and was running around and playing with toys in their nursery. Luckily we close their door at nap time and bedtime so she couldn't get into real trouble. Then last week Savannah and Olivia both climbed over the baby gate downstairs, granted it is not a very tall gate but now that they have figured it out we will have to find something else.

Last week I called Scott and he ran upstairs to look at something and in the short amount of time he was gone all 3 girls climbed onto the changing table (they have been climbing it for a while now even though they are told no) and were sitting with Vaseline, which they had found on the diaper changing rack, they took the lid off and were all smearing it on the wall. I wish he could have gotten a picture of this as it sounds kind of funny. He did not think it was funny since he then had to clean it off the wall.

Since Savannah has not been escaping her crib on a regular basis we still keep her in the crib and have removed anything that she could have used to step on, this seems to be working for now. This weekend we went down to my moms house and planned on having the girls take naps there since a few weeks ago they had all taken a nap their together so we knew it could be done. However, this time it did not go so well. We had 2 pack-n-plays and a crib so Emma and Savannah went in the pack-n-plays and Olivia in the crib. We left and thought they were going to sleep. About 10 minutes later I passed the room and heard the noise of someone dialing a telephone. Well obviously no one had a telephone in their bed so I peeked in and saw Savannah with the phone walking around the room and handing things to her sisters. They were all having fun and definitely not sleeping. So we put Savannah in the crib and Olivia in her pack-n-play. All was quiet for 10 minutes so Scott and I went to get some milk and stuff. My mom called while we were out to say the girls had been screaming and she went in to check on them and Olivia had escaped but was trapped on one side of the room but was busily playing with the toys in that area. But her sisters were screaming because they were upset that she wasn't bringing them toys. So the girls got to stay up until we made it back, we ended up putting Emma in the pack-n-play that both Olivia and Savannah had escaped from and this time we finally got 2 babies to go to sleep...ahhhh what a long day. Olivia was the one who would not go to sleep. Now we have to figure out how in the world we are going to get them to sleep other places where we do not have cribs.

On a similar note, now that the girls are getting taller their favorite past-time is to turn lights on and off, on and off, on and off.
