Staying Busy with the Girls

So now that I am officially working part-time and staying at home with the girls things have changed a lot for me on those days.  At first the girls didn't understand why I was home and kept asking where their dad was, I think because they thought it was a weekend.  We have kept pretty busy during my days off.  Here are just some of the fun activities we have done.

We have visited Noah's Art on several afternoons for their 'free-play' where you pay $5 for each child for an hour of painting and craft activities.  Considering how messy they get and how much they love painting at the easels it is definitely worth the money.

We also went to visit my mom's work for an afternoon and even got to visit a pumpkin patch that was all home-grown.  The girls enjoyed picking out their pumpkins, they were very proud.

The girls and I also did a music class every Tuesday for several months, the girls seemed to enjoy that too.  They didn't sing much in class but they sang in the car and at home.  Scott even learned several of the songs from hearing us sing them in the car.

We were invited to join a group of mom's going to the pumpkin patch on another day as well, so we headed off to enjoy a nice morning of fun.  There was lots to do at the pumpkin patch for the kids including a hay maze, bouncing toys, duck racing, a hay hut and more.

As much as I enjoy taking the girls to do things, I also enjoy just hanging out at the house.  It gives us a chance to sit down at breakfast and eat and talk.  Sometimes they will sit there for an hour just being slow, eating, talking, and sometimes singing (Savannah).  Then they will play for a while, during this time I have tried to leave to do laundry or clean-up but they start fighting or come find me.  So for now it is easier just to sit down and watch them play.  We usually do coloring or bracelet making or some games before lunch, then we will do lunch and play outside or do more games.  In the afternoon sometimes they will take a nap but usually it is only 1 or 2 that will nap so I end up sitting in their room during nap time to make sure that those who need to sleep get it and those who don't stay in their beds and don't bother the other(s).  Usually I take this time to read a book or catch up on my computer, or just nap in the chair (my favorite).

So those are our days spent at home, I can't believe how fast the weeks have gone by.
