Thanksgiving

It was our year to have Scott’s parents down for Thanksgiving.  They came on Monday night and my mom, lynn, and I did some Christmas crafting on Tuesday since it was my day off.  Wednesday the girls only had half a day so Lynn and Dick went and picked them up and played some games until I got home and Scott was off work.  Thursday we woke up and watched the parade on TV in our pjs until about 11 then we headed down to my mom’s house for Thanksgiving lunch.  We had a big crowd and nice weather for Thanksgiving, we at all the usual things and a few new things.  The kids were not very interested in eating and were much more concerned about playing outside.  They all got along well and spent most of the day outside which was a welcome break allowing us grown-ups to socialize.

After lunch we headed to a few stores and took turns staying in the car with the girls.  We made stops at Kohls, Best Buy and Michaels.  After we got home Scott and his mom went back out to hit a few stores.  I volunteered to stay home the next morning with the girls I didn’t need anything at 5am.  So Scott and his parents went shopping to several places and were back home around 9am.  Later after lunch Lynn, Scott and I headed out to a few more stores but didn’t really buy much.

On Saturday we had a big traditional Thanksgiving dinner at our house complete with a Turducken Scott had prepared.  I made a cheesecake and sweet potato casserole and we had some baby potatoes, greenbeans, stuffing, rolls, and cranberry sauce.  It was a great meal and we had a nice time eating together.  On Sunday it was about 72 degrees and sunny so we all went for a walk and put up Christmas lights outside.  Now it is time to get ready for Christmas it sure comes fast.
