Baby News - Part II

We had planned on waiting until I was out of my first trimester to tell my extended family that I was pregnant but we also knew we would see them all at Easter and wouldn't have a chance to see them all again until probably July.  This also meant we would need to tell the girls before Easter so we decided to tell them on Saturday night before Easter.  I really wasn't sure how the girls would react to this news.  None of them have ever asked for a baby brother or sister.  Scott recorded it while we told them so we could capture their reaction.  We gave them each an egg with the little cute light-up chicken and a piece of paper.  Emma's paper said, "Mommy has" and Olivia's said, "a baby", and Savannah's said "in her belly".  We had them read their papers but the didn't get it the first time through.  So we told them to do it again, this time Emma was starting to figure it out and she was the first to put it together and she came over and patted my belly and said "does she really?"  I said yes and she said "she really does!".  It was sweet Emma was instantly excited, Olivia was not sure and kept saying things like 'are you sure' and 'are you teasing us' so I don't think she was buying it. Savannah just sat there a little confused and surprised.  After a little bit though they were running around telling their stuffed animals and super excited.

So we decided to tell them with the eggs like we had done for our parents and my friends.  This time we put little chicken peeps in each egg for the kids and then we put a peep and put a slip of paper that said, 'Something is hatching for the Roux family 11.02.2016' in the eggs for the adults.  The girls helped me hand them out.   Some people got the message right away and others didn't open their eggs or figure it out for several minutes.  Most everyone was surprised and happy for us.  Bethany and Jesse were probably the most excited.  Jesse even came up to me and said I've been praying for a baby cousin and Jamie said he really has.  Jesse said he was hoping it was a boy poor guy being the only boy in the family I'm sure he is ready for another boy even if it will be a lot younger.
