The Mall

This summer the girls have been asking about going to the mall.  I am really not sure why they want to go to the mall I tried to explain that it is a place to shop.  They don't like to go shopping with me so I am surprised they still want to go.  I think there must be some friends at school that go to the mall.

I asked my mom to join us and we took them today to Carolina Place mall.  We ate lunch in the food court, then we rode down the elevator and up the escalator and just walked around.  We went into a few stores and I bought a scented stick for my car from Yankee candle.  They each picked out a shirt on clearance from The Children's Place for their baby brother but no one asked for anything really for themselves.   I was surprised that they didn't beg us to go in the build-a-bear or Disney store.  They did stop once to look in the window at the build-a-bear but then we just kept going.

They wanted to play in the kid area which is really for smaller kids but I let them play for a while.  After a few hours we told them it was time to go and they were upset they wanted to stay.  I am still not sure I see the appeal of the mall for them but I'm glad they had a good time.
