Ethan has been getting more steady on his feet the last few days. We have caught him standing on his own a few times but usually just for a second when he lets go of the couch or ottoman. Today however he stood up without assistance and was able to stand by himself for a few seconds. He seemed to be enjoying the applause he got from doing this and kept doing it probably a dozen times. One time he even tried to move his foot a step forward and he fell but it was a good attempt.
It has been a running joke with Scott and Savannah about Ethan standing. Savannah was the first of the girls to stand unassisted and she did it on the day after her birthday July 25. So Scott told Savannah that Ethan was getting close to beating her record. She has been a good sport but doesn't always cheer him on like the rest of us. We have not been able to get a picture yet of Ethan standing and we were able to get one of her standing (she stood while opening her birthday gifts so we had a camera in hand) so she said it doesn't count until we get a picture.
