18 Months

The girls had their 18 month checkup yesterday and everyone is doing great. We were told during the pregnancy of all of the additional risks having triplets would be and how their health could be affected by prematurity, etc. So I have to say that we continually feel extra blessed to have such healthy little girls. Here is a little more on each girl.
Emma weighed in the lightest at 20 pounds and 4 ounces which is the 5th percentile, you can already tell she will have a small frame and will be thin and tall like her daddy. She 31 inches and is in the 25th percentile for her height, but we think she is taller than Savannah so it may be more like 31.5 which would be the 50th. Surprisingly she is our biggest and least picky eater. We have not found a food lately that she didn’t like, we even gave her mushrooms and she ate them up. Often she will eat her food and then finish off her sisters leftovers. She has become a very good walker in the last month and no longer walks on her knees. The doctor said he had no concern and said she was just a late walker. Emma has a lot of words like, hi, bye, duck, up (up is her favorite), shoes, socks etc. Emma is the most friendly to strangers and loves to be held, especially if you are standing. She is very sweet but lately we have seen a little feisty side to her. If someone tries to take away a toy that she has she will lean over to bite them, we have had several incidents of an open mouth approaching an arm, but she hasn’t actually made contact with anyone yet. We are trying to break this habit before it becomes an issue.

Olivia weighed in at 21 pounds even which puts her in the 10th percentile, she is also the tallest baby at 32 inches which puts her in the 75th percentile. Her hair is getting very curly and it is super cute. Everyone says she looks like me, I think her big eyes and curly hair are the culprits. Olivia is a good eater and likes most things, though last weekend we found out olives are not her thing. Olivia is still our little hoarder and feels that she needs all of whatever she is playing with. Last weekend at my mom’s she went around and gathered all of the remotes and to keep her sisters from taking them she proceeded to sit on 2 while she played with 1. She is very smart and plays well by herself, she probably talks the least but is very vocal when someone steals a toy. She has a lot of little words like hi, bye, up, etc. but her favorite words are juice and shoe. Her mood can change quickly she can turn on some big alligator tears and pop out her bottom lip very well and quickly, but she also is the easiest to make laugh even when upset. We haven’t decided if Olivia or Savannah is more dramatic.

Savannah weighed in also at 21 pounds which also puts her in the 10th percentile. She is 31.25 inches tall which puts her in the 50th percentile. She is our pickiest eater but our best drinker, she will finish an 8 ounce cup of milk or juice in no time, and she will often help out the other girls with their juice as well. Savannah is our biggest and best talker she says very funny things. She says No Mam to her sisters when she doesn’t approve of what they are doing or if they try to take a toy, it is funny. She also loves to tell everyone to Stop. She also has little words like, buh-bye, hello, shoe, sock, etc. She is the best at helping get things for me, if I ask her to bring me Emma’s shoes she will walk over and pick them up and bring them to me.
