Today the girls took their first airplane ride from Charlotte to Boston. Scott and I and his parents have been very busy planning for this trip. Scott's parents were able to borrow a lot of the essentials that we needed for our stay such as 3 highcharis, 3 carseats, 3 pack n plays. They also stocked up on the essentials such as diapers, wipes, food, milk, etc. Then Scott's mom came down a day early to fly to Boston with us so we would have one person for each baby. Having the extra help was crucial to a successful flight. We arrived around 10 pm for our 12 pm flight and the airport was not busy so we had time to check-in and watch the planes for a while. The girls had fun running around the airport, here are a few pics and a video.
Olivia, Savannah, Emma
After boarding we were delayed about 30 minutes and had to wait on the runway, I was holding Olivia and she fell asleep in my arms before we even left the ground, I was kind of sad not to see her reaction on the take-off. The other two were awake until after take-off, but they both fell asleep pretty soon after. They all woke up before we landed so I got to see Olivia's reaction to landing which was fun, they were all eagerly looking out the window and sometimes squealing.
After landing we picked up our luggage and made our way to the truck that Dick had left when he dropped off Lynn. We had some difficulties adjusting the carseats so we were a little late getting out of the parking garage, apparently you only have 20 minutes, but we had paid for 2 days of parking so it shouldn't have been an issue. That put a damper on things because they wanted us to pay more, we finally got a manger to talk to us and she admitted it was their fault though the guy had been a complete jerk to us. So then we headed to Dick's office since it was close by and we got to see his building which had huge fish inside. They also got to see Sparky the fire dog statue. Here is a picture of them looking at the fish and hugging sparky.
We then headed off to see Mem for dinner, it took about another hour and half to get there, but the girls were good, or so we heard. Scott and I got some alone time driving the car while his parents drove the truck with the girls. We had a nice dinner with Mem and the girls enjoyed running up and down her hallway which is an old furniture factory and very very long. The girls also got a surprise from Scott's sister Shell who stopped by with Kylie to meet the girls. The girls really warmed up to Kylie fast and they all played together well.
So it was a long day, but it went pretty smoothly.
