My parents invited the girls (and Scott and I) to Tweetsie
railroad this summer. They had been last summer with Stephanie's family
and had a good time so we got to go this year. Growing up I had been to
Tweetsie several times and had fond memories of the place. The train sticks out in my memory the most because they usually had something happen on the train ride like Indians come out of the woods or a cowboy would come rob the train, etc.
We went on a Thursday (yesterday 6/18) and it was not very crowded so we got to do
about everything there. I recognized the horses out front and the girls
each wanted to climb on them. I remember
a picture of my sisters and I sitting on one of these horses when we were
young.
We rode some rides and then came back toward
the train to see some shows and ride the train.
We saw some joggers perform and a cabaret type show which the girls
liked they even got to meet the dancers afterwards. We had some lunch and then
rode the train, it was fun and not scary like I remembered. They had a show with cowboys and Indians it
had some gun shots and explosions but the girls didn’t seem to get scared.
We spent the rest of the afternoon riding rides, Scott rode with
the girls for a while and then they rode some rides by themselves. It rained a little bit so after the rain they
had the park almost to themselves and rode all they wanted to until time to go.
I think everyone had a good time.
