June 20th - Phantom of the Opera

At my last appointment we asked the specialist if he would allow us to go to Phantom of the Opera on Saturday, the tickets were my my Christmas present from Scott. He asked us questions about where our seats were located. Scott had called and got handicap seating for us a few months ago just in case I was able to go. So I told the doctor that we had handicap accessible seating and my own wheelchair so I would not have to walk at all. He said that was good, but still wanted to know how close we were, I was confused as to why that mattered. But apparently he was trying to decide if we should just give him the tickets- ha ha. He said it would be fine if we did that one outing in a wheelchair.

We were very excited to be able to use our tickets and so Saturday night we got dressed up and went out to see the Phantom downtown. The staff was very accommodating and wheel chaired me all around, it was much easier than I anticipated. It is hard to get use to being in a wheelchair though, I don't like the feeling of being dependent on Scott or someone to take me to the bathroom, I am getting better at steering but through crowds it is hard.

The show was terrific, we had box seats right near the front and could see everyone and everything very clearly it was really neat. I did not know the whole story so I really enjoyed watching it for the first time, and of course the music was terrific. We really had a great time, but we knew that this would be our last 'outing' before the babies.
Here are a few pictures of us after our 'outing'
