Happy Birthday Sweetheart

Today Scott turned the big 3-0, his day was full of surprise. First of all he woke up and I had some croissant breakfast sandwichs waiting for him, mind you they were still frozen, but hey he didn't know I had gotten them and hide them from him so that he could enjoy them on his birthday. He also got a surprise from Emma, she rolled from her back onto her tummy this morning (ok so I didn't plan that surprise), she was the first to roll from her tummy to her back but the last to roll from her back to her tummy.

The next surprise was for lunch. I had arranged to take half a day off work, and I was going to get him lunch from his favorite place. However, I didn't know how to keep him from eating lunch before I could get there. So I just hoped that he would be too busy to eat before feeding the girls at 1pm. I called at 12:30 and casually asked what he had eaten for lunch but he said he had not had a chance yet, I could hear them crying in the background so I figured I was good to go. I headed home to the Chinese restaurant across the street and picked up our lunches. On the way out of the parking lot I saw a car like ours coming towards me, at first I thought it might be Scott but then I realized it couldn't be because the girls only fit in the van. To my surprise it was Scott, we saw each other and our mouths dropped. Apparently a neighbor friend had walked down to help with the lunchtime feeding and Scott had ordered his favorite meal. The neighbor friend had not even known that it was his birthday or that I was on my way home, it was so funny. Scott has never had the opportunity to eat out since he has been with the girls and it just so happened that on the one day I was surprising him he got that opportunity. It turned out great though, because he was able to eat his lunch while it was hot and I had help feeding the girls (thank you Anita!).

The next surprise arrived around 5 pm when my parents showed up to watch the girls so Scott and I could go out to dinner. We had a very nice, quiet dinner and even got to run a few errands while we were out. I had ice cream cake as a surprise for Scott too so we all had some cake and the girls got to try ice cream for the first time (at least I think it was the first time, but knowing Scott they may have had some before).

I tried to find little birthday hats for the girls but apparently neither wal-mart nor michael's carries hats, so Scott was so kind to print some out and make them for the girls. I'm so glad he did because we were able to get the cutest picture of the birthday boy with the girls.
