When I asked Scott what he wanted to do for his 30th birthday a few weeks ago I completely expected him to say the usual, nothing. Boy did I get a surprise when he asked that we have a pool party so the girls can go swimming with him for the first time for his birthday, let's all remember that Scott was born in the coldest month of the year! So needless to say this is not an easy task to accomplish. After exhausting several different and very expensive options, I finally decided to rent a hotel room. An extra bonus to this plan was that Scott's parents volunteered to keep the girls so we could spend the night in the hotel after the swim.
My well thought out plan was rudely interrupted by a snow storm (we don't get snow in the South). It started snowing Friday afternoon on our way to check-in to the hotel. I was nervous about sending them home that night in the snowy dark, but Dick got them all home safely and Scott and I had a nice quiet night in the hotel. The next day my parents, sisters, and their kids came to wish Scott a Happy Birthday, we all went swimming and had a cookie cake afterwards.
